Botanical: Allspice
Allspice has been called the only spice native to the “new world.” The name conjures a taste that European explorers could only describe as a combination of nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves. The latter being most correct, as Allspice, like cloves has a high amount of Eugenol in its essential oil.Allspice is rare in gins and it can be an overpowering note, calling to mind Allspice Dram liqueur.
