Botanical: Acacia
Acacia is a large diverse family of trees and shrubs native to Australia. The trees are also known as “Wattles.” The trees often grown for wood, also have edible seeds which were a traditional source of protein for Australian Aboriginal peoples. Nowadays the seeds are often lumped under the trendy “bush food” movement that reconnects Australians with local herbs and foods which sustained large populations of people before trans-oceanic content.
