It may seem nearly impossible to keep up with— these days it seems like every celebrity has a spirits brand. The Celebrity Gin space has been particularly active, especially in the early 2020’s.
Ryan Reynold’s Aviation Gin is the best selling in the list, and the highest valued, being acquired by Diageo in 2020 for over $600 million USD, there are several other gins from some equally as famous people that are less well known.
One of the biggest names to enter the market in 2023— Emma Watson and her Renais Gin— is slated to enter the U.S. market in 2024. It may be the next big celebrity gin stateside.
Some quick highlights— rock bands, especially metal bands appear more times than you would expect. It’s not just veteran rock acts like KISS and Ozzy Osbourne have gotten into the gin game, but modern touring musicians like Sweden’s Ghost have as well. South Africa is particularly well represented on the list, with several regional celebrities having their own gin brands.
About this celebrity gin brand list
In short, this list is not exhaustive. It’s likely I’ve missed some celebrity gins— and it’s even more likely that we’ll see new launches after I publish this timeline. I’ve included celebrities as owners, as spokespeople, and as spirit recipe designers. In others words, it’s the broadest definition of celebrity gin brand one can take. Secondly, some brief celebrity stunts are not included. For example Snoop Dogg’s infamous “world’s largest gin and juice” stunt with Hendrick’s in 2018 is not included.
