Tasting Notes

The nose has the classic Campari aroma: bitter orange, a sweet berry and celery aroma, and a hint of sweet orange and wormwood. Overall, the aroma is like that of any other equal parts Negroni you’ve had.

Taste-wise, Campari Negroni is nicely balanced. While a bit sweet at first, some Vermouth comes through mid-palate. Juniper and citrus add gin character mid through late, while the finish is a combination of dry with slight wormwood, gentian, and quinine notes.

Overall, Campari Negroni

The Campari Group’s pre-bottled Negroni may be considered a bit paint-by-the-numbers. It just does exactly what you’d expect. One part gin. One part Campari. One part Sweet Vermouth.

But at the same time, that is also it’s strength. The Campari Negroni is exactly what it should be. Nothing more, nothing less.

Even though the Negroni is one of the easiest cocktails to make, period. There’s a time and place for pre-bottled cocktails. And wherever that is, the Campari Negroni should be there.

Bartenders should stick to mixing drinks-to-order. But for any time where you want a cocktail without having to make it— the Campari Negroni is a winning pre-bottled cocktail that will appeal to fans of the cocktail no matter their usual gin of choice.
