Gin Recommendations

The original recipe for Damn the Weather dates back to the time of prohibition. Found in Harry Craddock’s infamous The Savoy Cocktail Book, the context informs how it was likely was drank. In 1930, low quality, compound gins were widely abound. It’s likely at the time of publishing the dry gin used might have been a true bathtub gin.

If you’re looking for a true prohibition experience, try Levenswater Spring 34 or Old Hollywood Ginn.

I prefer it as written with a classic juniper-forward dry gin. To be of the time, try it with Gordon’s.
