Moth’s Pink Gin Fizz is made with Tarquin’s Cornish Gin, sparkling wine and lemon. It’s canned at 10% ABV.
Tasting notes
Color: Amaranth and only slightly translucent
Aroma: lemon, strawberry jam, a hint of pine and a fair amount of powdery rose. Gin hints on the nose delicately add depth to the floral, traditional pink gin aroma.
Taste: raspberry, rose, tart lemon juice with some zesty oily notes. Gin and juniper comes through early, neroli and cardamom chiefly, lingering towards the back of the palate.
Mild carbonation, medium sized bubbles, largely concentrated at the front of the palate. Moderate sweetness with hints of riesling wine.
Finish: lemon, pear, cardamon and marzipan. Long finish with emphasis on tartness and rose water.
Overall, Pink Moth Gin Fizz
Pink Moth Gin Fizz hits the high notes of a pink gin cocktail, but creates a nicely balanced, and easy to drink cocktail. The choice of wine over plain soda adds slight minerality, and some crisp grape and pear notes. The effervescence is also more delicate than many RTDs with soda.
I love the ABV and the choice of source gin. It’s a pink gin cocktail that strikes a nice balance of pink, and gin. I really enjoyed this, but some might find the florals a bit powdery or even soapy.
