Featuring Tarquin’s Gin, the Aperitivo Spritz includes bitter orange, soda water and “bliss.” It is canned at 10% ABV.
Tasting notes
Aroma: Sweet, bitter aromatized wine. Dry vermouth, a hint of wormwood, orange zest, and lemon oil. Complex, but immediately suggestive of a vermouth and soda.
Flavor: sweetly wine with some strong notes of lemon and lime. Mid-palate, some of the wine comes through. At first like a dry vermouth, the bitterness and aperitif comes through mid-palate more like a fizzy Cappelletti.
Mild bitterness, that never becomes too intense. Gentle tartness as well.
Finish: hint of dry minerality. Nutty, earthy notes from the gin come through. Long and Dry on the palate.
Overall
It’s more about the aperitivo than the gin, but it’s still a delicious, easy to drink cocktail. Careful sippers will pick up on the Tarquin’s gin, especially on the finish. But this is your ideal summer canned cocktail for when you don’t want to make an Aperol Spritz.
