Tasting Notes

Aroma: White rum and Sweet cane on the nose, with a touch of vanilla, woodruff, coumarin and cinnamon dusted custard. It’s light, inviting, and very base spirit forward

Taste: Grassier, but still strongly on the rum tasting wheel with marshmallow, nougat and green banana. Citrus, especially bitter orange peels, with a hint of cassia and cloves. Piney, woody juniper mid and late on the palate, with the spiced notes adding some pepperiness to the hay, banana leaf and overall sharpness to the palate.

Finish: fairly astringent, with banana leaf and rum notes mostly dominant. Long finish, with pronounced warmth

Cocktails

A rum-forward gin, it works well as a rum. Try it in a Tom Collins or Daquari.

Overall

Fun and unusual, it’s perhaps more a celebration of the base spirit than it is the juniper. However, it successfully marries botanicals and juniper in a way that is unusual and fun, but mixes more as a rum than a gin.
