From the, “I never would have expected it files,” the Times newspaper has launched its own gin: The Times London Dry Gin. The gin seems predictably classic in profile with a handful of less commonly included citrus fruits (two kinds of grapefruit, pomelo and clementines).** For the second time EVER, a group of entrepreneurs in Israel are attempting to launch a whiskey. More pertinent for us though is that in the future they plan on putting out a gin. Stay Tuned. Up in Caithness, what will soon be Britain’s northernmost gin distillery, Dunnet Bay Distillers are hard at work and expect to have their first gin samples out this summer. Stay Tuned.

Parade Magazine assures a nation of Sunday Paper reading, weight-loss resolution-making Americans that Gin and Tonics are among the lowest calorie cocktails. Hurrah! The Nigerian Institute for Government Research and Leadership Technology announced at this year’s African Products Forum that Grand Oaks Limited’s Lord’s Dry Gin is The Best Gin of the Year.
