A couple of new launches in a much quieter week, as most of the gin community continues to buzz about some of the big name launches that are preceding the holiday season. Without further ado, here’s what’s happening in the world of gin this week:
Copper Fox Distillery [also the folks behind Founding Farmer’s restaurant’s gin a month back] is set to launch their Sperryville, VA gin that goes by the name “Vir Gin” [get it?] Launch party is 11/7 at Vinoteca in D.C.
La Mare Wine estate on the Island of Jersey is preparing to test launch a gin and vodka made from Jersey Royal Potatoes*. Given the success of potato base spirits as an alternative to grain bases, as well as the terroir story in using the island’s namesake potatoes, it sounds like there’s a recipe for success here.
Chase Distillery’s spin on Sloe Gin has launched in the UK. In addition to local Sloes, the twist is the addition of Mulberry to the infusion.
What are People Talking About?
The most buzzed about topic in the gin world without a doubt has to be Beefeater’s Burrough’s Reserve launch.
